EmotionsOnto: an Ontology for Developing Affective Applications
نویسندگان
چکیده
EmotionsOnto is a generic ontology for describing emotions and their detection and expression systems taking contextual and multimodal elements into account. The ontology is proposed as a way to develop an easily computerizable and flexible formal model. Moreover, it is based on the Web Ontology Language (OWL) standard, which also makes ontologies easily shareable and extensible. Once formalized as an ontology, the knowledge about emotions can be used in order to make computers more personalised and adapted to users’ needs. The ontology has been validated and evaluated by means of an applications based on a emotionsaware Tangible User Interface (TUI). The TUI is guided by emotion knowledge previously gathered using the same TUI and modelled using EmotionsOnto.

Passenger information aims at improving the user-friendliness of public transport systems while influencing passenger route choices to satisfy transit user’s travel requirements. The integration of transit information from multiple agencies is a major challenge in implementation of multi-modal passenger information systems. The problem of information sharing is further compounded by the multi-l...

Affective science conducts interdisciplinary research into the emotions and other affective phenomena. Currently, such research is hampered by the lack of common definitions of terms used to describe, categorise and report both individual emotional experiences and the results of scientific investigations of such experiences. High quality ontologies provide formal definitions for types of entiti...

Recently, automatic affective state recognition has been noteworthy for improving Human Computer Interaction (HCI), clinical researches and other various applications. Little attention has been paid so far to physiological signals for affective state recognition compared to audio-visual methods. Different affective states stimulate the Autonomic Nervous System (ANS) and lead to changes in physi...

متن کاملDeveloping a BIM-based Spatial Ontology for Semantic Querying of 3D Property Information
With the growing dominance of complex and multi-level urban structures, current cadastral systems, which are often developed based on 2D representations, are not capable of providing unambiguous spatial information about urban properties. Therefore, the concept of 3D cadastre is proposed to support 3D digital representation of land and properties and facilitate the communication of legal owners...
